Our Research focus.
Neopictonic is a research platform comprised of three departments, focused on the study of bio-materials, exploration of advanced technologies of digital design and the manufacturing of experimental methods; which seeks to establish a multidisciplinary space dedicated to developing non-conventional design proposals, guided by science, biology and technology.
Studies, analyze complex systems that make up different areas of research of the laboratory, applying emerging digital technologies, generative algorithmic processes, exploration of materials and methods of 3D manufacturing, facilitating the visualization, reading, and projecting of information.
Bio-materials
Our research is focused on the new challenges of humanity, creating scenarios that establish a balance between industry and ecosystem. For this reason we direct our interests to the study of local practices, affiliated to the preindustrial era, using advanced technologies of design, that boost the study, production, and use of Bio-materials.
Advanced Design Technologies
This Centre orients its studies to the exploration of advanced technologies of design, based on learning, and projected processes with the use of digital modeling software, such as Rhinoceros, Autodesk Maya, and programming languages such as Python, Grasshopper, and Processing.
Experimental Fabrication
Elaboration of models that merge traditional building processes, technology specializing in 3D printing and the manufacturing of non-conventional methods.
